About Dr Britt

Dr Britt (she/her) is a Sāmoan, Cook Island wahine, with ancestry to Lebanon, Scotland and Ireland, born and raised in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. She is a resident Doctor who graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2017 and is currently undertaking her specialist training in Psychiatry (Mental Health) with the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). Dr Britt is also navigating and exploring Ancestral wisdom and Indigenous knowledge and how this can be utilised synergistically with Western Medical concepts to create a more holistic, affirming, and transformational practice for individuals and communites. 

 

Dr Britt's experience with anxiety, depression and burnout further informs her practice, as does her role as an eldest daughter, eldest granddaughter, sister, aunty, cousin, friend and as a future ancestor. Dr Britt is passionate about supporting her community and elevating collective wellbeing in a way that is culturally relevant, applicable, and appropriate, to contribute to healthy, healing, and thriving communities now and for generations into the future.
